Time: 8PM & 3PM (22 JULY 2017)
Venue: DANCE NUCLEUS STUDIO BLOCK M #02-53
In the final season of HATCH 2017, we will be bringing you five works over two programmes, three of which in their next phase of development from previous seasons and two new multi-media works.
In Programme A, Wayne Ong & Leia Ang will showcase the final development phase of their work and marks its conclusion to their interpretation and exploration of the parable, Lazarus and the rich man, for HATCH 2017. In redevelopment and continuation of her previous chapter in January, Yarra Ileto returns, exploring character, desire and dissatisfaction through an investigation of personality, physical body and performance.
Programme B will bring us two multi-media works presented by the two respective artists, Chiew Peishan and Sherman Fu, who came on board during this HATCH season. Both items will be presented alongside a work by Jereh Leung & Chen Jiexiao. Peering into the manifestation of the aftermath of conflict, Peishan investigates its potential influence on the body. Sherman delves into the formal interaction of dance and film through a literary interpretation of a quote that suggests the possibilities of self, personal interests and like-mindedness. Further developing their work from the April season, Jereh Leung & Chen Jiexiao will explore deeper into the politics of the gaze and the male body.
