Chinese Drama Production is a special project conducted yearly by NTU Chinese Society. As one of the largest-scale special projects under NTU Chinese Society, Chinese Drama Production is well recognised for its professional standard of performance and profound influence. It is not only an excellent stage for students to showcase their talents, but also an opportunity for the public to learn and appreciate the beauty of drama.
Some of our past productions include Mr. Donkey in 2014, The Hostages in 2015, White Rose, Red Rose in 2016 and The Dawns Here Are Quiet in 2017. Our latest production, The Mousetrap was performed in 2018 in front of over 400 audiences over 3 day. This year, we will bring a comedy drama The Late Christopher Bean by René Fauchois onto stage. The play depicts the effect on a respectable but not well-off family of the discovery that paintings bequeathed to them by a neglected artist are now highly regarded and very valuable. The ensuing outbreak of avarice affects most of the household, but the family's maid, Abby/Gwenny, remains uncorrupted and virtue is finally triumphant.
