100 & 100 More Festival for Young Audiences
25 May - 3 Jun
Venue: The Artground
The Artground invites families with young children and artists to the Goodman Arts Centre to re-imagine what theatre for young audiences can be. The Artground’s inaugural 100 and 100 More Festival brings together the best of children’s productions from around the world, as a culmination of the centre’s artist incubation and partnership efforts over the past year. This biennial festival envisions to be a key platform for original new works for young audiences in Singapore and in the region, with its first edition featuring a local festival commission, a co-creation with Australia and other prolific works and artists from Denmark, Scotland, Indonesia and Japan.
These productions are accompanied by a range of non-ticketed visual arts exhibitions and workshops by local and overseas artists. Rolling @ TAG by Aida Daiya (Japan) is an interactive play area encouraging spontaneous play and will be the first to launch on 19 April 2018 over a 4-month period as a lead-up to the festival. The Artground is also working with local inclusive arts movement Superhero Me, whose pop-up and evolving exhibition will open the festival on the 25 May 2018. With a total of nearly 70 ticketed and non-ticketed events, The Artground hopes to present a 100 and 100 more novel ways of seeing the world through a child’s eyes.
