Café Melba, a bespoke concept owned and operated by Tadcaster Hospitality, presents an ultimate casual all-‐day dining experience, a tranquil escape away from the bustling hectic city. Located within the luscious green compounds of Goodman Arts Centre, Café Melba is blend of influences from Melbourne (MELB) and Asia (A) with interpretations of Australasian dishes. This 120 seater café aims to deliver the perennial of classics which include Melbournian style thin crusted pizzas, brunch comfort classics and weekend roast; accompanied by gourmet coffees and luxurious teas.
Once the former basketball court nestled within the community of Goodman Arts Centre in front of Block M; a vision of Tony Coughlan, he conceptualized Café Melba with neutral palettes to complement the environment alongside the lush green field under tall and ancient shade trees. As Tony puts it, "it is a place I want to be and get lost in our busy hectic city".
A myriad of communal dining tables with high and low seating flows outdoors to a family-‐orientated environment revolving around children and pets, inclusive of a full size pétanque pitch for the adults to wine their idle afternoons away and a lush green field for kids to run freely. Kids are definitely not forgotten and have a separate menu created especially for them. Surrounded with old school charm, Café Melba is the perfect escape for all city dwellers, a place to be and linger more any day.
